Well it appears we are switching boxes this year! The Blue Tits decided after weeks of checking out our main blue tit nest box that they would actually build their nest in one of our sparrow boxes. Most of the cameras aren’t actually in place this season so we only had cameras on box 1 but due to the fact all the boxes are based on the same design we were able to simply swap the camera housing onto Box 3!
The Blue Tits have already made good progress with their nest and more and more material keeps coming. However, choosing a box close to other sparrow nests and feeders is a little problematic as the blue tits spend half of the day chasing sparrows away. We hope this won’t distract them too much from their nest though.
The webcams are now available for this box, click the Live Cameras link and open the Live Console. This is the console from last year and it in the process of being redesigned to fit in with the new website better so keep watching!
