11th March

Currently, Box 4 is getting a lot more interest than the main Box 1 at the moment! We hope our pair of Blue Tits settle down soon and decide which box they would like to nest in. It was around the end of March last year that nest building began so fingers crossed, we may see signs soon! Box 1 has yet to have two birds in at any one time so far this year but Box 4, the Sparrow Terrace is getting a few visits from both the male and the female at the same time! The problem with this box for Blue Tits, however, is as it is made for Sparrows, there are perches outside and the hole is slightly bigger, allowing other birds to get to the box easier than Box 1. We hope that wherever they nest, it is successful this year, and we will keep you updated on any changes!

7th March

There has been a lot of activity in the middle box of the sparrow terrace over the last couple of days! Yesterday, two Blue Tit’s were seen in the box together for a brief moment, along with many other single visits during the last few days. It will be nice if this box does get used this year, but we do hope Bird Box 1 is also used!

27th January

This morning at 9.24, a blue tit was spotted in the middle box of Bird Box 4. the sparrow terrace. This is the first real video from this bird box and it was quite interesting to watch! The Blue Tit was clearly inspecting or house hunting as it kept checking the floor, walls and spinning around checking size! We hope that this box gets some use this year, so we will keep you posted
